Best Spots in Croatia | My Top 5

Croatia’s extraordinary coast has a lot to offer. To get the most out of your trip I will provide you with my Top 5 places to visit, restaurants to try and things to do.

Croatia is full of islands and cities at the shore with well-preserved towns worth visiting an strolling along the brick stone streets for a while thinking about the old times where the romans and greeks of the Dalmatia lived at the Adriatic Sea.

My Top 5 Places to visit are:
Primošten – a small beautiful town and the best place to start your Croatia Boat Trip
Trogir – a well preserved town, known for its remaining medieval city walls.
Hvar – known for its nightlife but you shouldn’t miss out on walking up to the Spanjola fortress for a beautiful view on the bay.
Korčula – an island full of historical buildings, narrow streets and amazing seafood restaurants.
Dubrovnik – discover all the Game of Thrones filming sceneries (I dedicated a whole post to this romantic city)

Where to stay and What to do:

There are a lot of hotels located on the islands and the cities close to the sea. But let’s be honest, the most spectacular way to visit Croatia is definitely by boat. Make sure to either charter a sailing-, catamaran- or motorboat/yacht or to book an organised boat tour because anchoring in a bay is definitely the most beautiful and relaxing holiday experience (check out my Boat Trip Guide for more information). My favourite things to do are strolling through the streets of the historical towns, sailing from bay to bay, jumping into the azure blue water with my snorkeling gear and then, after a long day in the sun, enjoying the best of foods.

What to eat:

That’s an easy answer – seafood of course. In Croatia you can get the best fish out there, my personal favourite; the seabream. You will find amazing hidden restaurants on every island serving fresh seafood and great wines. These restaurants are either hidden between the trees and serve simple but delicious homemade meals or located right at the shore with a stunning view over the sea. One of my favourite restaurants is Zori, which is a fine dining restaurant located in the Vinogradisce bay.
