Wearing lipstick is a must, for me, in wintertime. When it’s warm outside then yes: less is definitely more. But when it’s cold: your make up is in desperate need of warm notes. Since I started doing make up, I have been a huge fan of MAC’s lipstick range. I love the texture and the easy application but even more; their beautiful colors. It being winter time and all, I simply had to pick out my favourite winter colors and share them with you.
The first color I applied is called ‘Amorous’. It has a satin texture and is quite pigmented. Usually I prefer matte colors (especially in winter) but honestly I can’t find that much of a difference between the lipsticks with matte and those with a satin finish, except for the smoother application that satin has to offer. In Amorous I found the perfect, round cranberry color suitable for this time of the year.
The dark red/plum color ‘Media’ immediately reminds me of a glas of red wine. Although Media has a satin finish, it feels pretty glossy on my lips. I wish it wouldn’t settle into my lip-lines quite as much but still I just can’t help falling in love with this deep and filling color.
It is quite difficult to find a fitting red color for my lips. I used to think that there was no such thing as a red lipstick that could fit anyone. That is of course until I came across the matte color ‘Viva Glam 1’. If you think that classic red colored lipsticks don’t fit your skin tone then you should really try this one out. It is more of a blue toned red, finally one that doesn’t make you look like a clown. Furthermore, as if that alone wasn’t enough reason to buy this great product, its profits are donated to the AIDS foundation! With this lipstick you get to do good by looking good :-)
The last one is definitely my absolute favourite MAC color, for the moment. It is called ‘Spirit’ and it is perfect for everyday use! What I love to do is to combine this color with a pair of smokey eyes. These looks are made for each other! If you are looking for a dark nude color, then this is the one for you. This lipstick stays on for hours and I can’t tell you how much I love, love, love this color!
