If you love colors then Havana is definitely the place for you, old stone walls accompanied by retro painted facades. Even though most buildings are in desperate need of a fresh coat, they still manage to make for a spectacular view. What place could be better suited for escaping the cold and grey of Vienna? From the Cabaña fortress to the Virgin Mary Cathedral and back to the Plaza Vieja, it is not hard to image how impossibly beautiful this baroque and neoclassic city once was. Everything feels old in Havana, except for the people who seem to find music, to salsa to, basically everywhere. I don’t think there are grandparents with looser hips anywhere in the world. Wearing a straw fedora hat almost seems like a must when you are in Cuba, I know wearing mine felt just right. Acclimatizing to the warm moist Cuban air was easy in my airy Brandy Melville Top and Zara Shorts. Just like a Cuba Libre, it is all about finding the right mix! Just add flip-flops and sunglasses, and you are good to go!
